As part of our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a dependable Water Operator in Training or Water Operator Grades I to IV to join our team and play a crucial role in our Field Operations department.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Operator in Training:
- Assist Operators with performance of all required job duties
- Take and record instrument readings
- Collect samples and perform routine laborartory analysis
- Maintain Utility tract through general clean up and wash-down facilities
- Perform routine tasks with hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Water Operator I - VI:
- Operates and maintains the water/wastewater treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines;
- Assists with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed.
- Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
- Performs routine tests on water treatment facilities including tests related to the treatment process, chemicals, pumps, motors, and routine water quality sampling.
- Documents plant performance including daily flow, well meter readings, and chemical dosage and usage.

Operator in Training : Entry level
Water Operator I - VI: Most hold a current Water Grade IV license with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. 3 years of directly related experience in water and/or wastewater system operations, maintenance, customer service, and experience operating mowing and lawn equipment.

Water Opertor I-VI requirement: ADEM Grade IV Water Certification/ License
