  • Starting Pay Range: $87,000 - $120,000 annualized salary

What You'll Do

The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic objectives of our team. This role will report primarily to the Vice President, Finance for the business unit with a dotted line reporting to the Vice President, Operations Financial Planning and Analysis.

 

This position will be willing and able to perform the following duties and others as assigned: 

  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and refine forecasts.
  • Lead annual budget preparation and optimize capitalization for growth.
  • Analyze performance trends and provide insights to senior leaders.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the VP of Finance and corporate team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and support regulatory filings.
  • Support M&A activities with financial modeling and due diligence.
  • Coordinate expense budgeting and provide recommendations to optimize production.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives like capital investments and cost optimization.
  • Improve financial processes and train non-financial managers on financial concepts.

Work Location and Schedule:  

  • This position will be primarily based at our office in Covina, California. Regular operating hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30AM to 5:00PM and every other Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

What You'll Bring

Experience 

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and reporting, preferably within a corporate and/or utilities environment. 

 

Education, Licenses, and Certifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Finance or related field required 

 

Nice to Have 

  • MBA and/or relevant professional certification (CFA, CPA) preferred 
  • Experience with SAP 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • High level of competency using Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Strong business analytical approach with ability to avoid material mistakes 
  • Ability to maintain confidential information 
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections 
  • Ability to motivate others in pursuit of Company goals and to produce quality work within strict timeframes while simultaneously managing several projects 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
