Overview
Nexus Water Group has an opportunity for a Fleet Manager. The Fleet Manager serves as the central expert and coordinator for all fleet operations across the organization, driving efficiency, safety, and alignment with company goals. This role oversees key functions such as vendor management, fuel programs, telematics systems, vehicle acquisition and disposal, regulatory compliance, and performance analytics. By implementing best-in-class practices and optimizing fleet-related tools and processes, the Fleet Manager ensures streamlined, cost-effective, and data-driven operations that support business continuity and growth.

This position is located in Sugar Land, TX.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement organization-wide fleet technologies, policies, standards, and best practices across all business units.
 - Partner with operations, procurement, finance, and HSE teams to ensure fleet management aligns with organizational goals.
 - Evaluate emerging fleet management technologies and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance.
 - Coordinate vehicle purchasing, upfitting, and disposal in collaboration with procurement and business units.
 - Standardize vehicle specifications and replacement cycles to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
 - Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including utilization, maintenance costs, fuel efficiency, and safety metrics.
 - Prepare periodic reports and executive dashboards to summarize fleet performance, trends, and opportunities.
 - Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and process optimization.
 - Oversee relationships with fleet maintenance vendors and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
 - Manage enterprise fuel card programs, including account setup, usage monitoring, fraud prevention, and reporting.
 - Serve as the enterprise administrator for the Samsara telematics system, ensuring proper configuration, reporting, and data integrity.
 - Collaborate with safety and operations teams to leverage telematics data for driver behavior analysis, routing optimization, and asset tracking.
 
What You'll Bring
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or operations within a multi-site or enterprise environment.
 
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
 
Nice to Have
- Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or equivalent certification preferred.
 - Experience in utility operations and field project management is a plus.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of fleet management, logistics, and operations within multi-site or enterprise environments.
 - Proficiency with fleet telematics platforms (preferably Samsara) and fuel card management systems.
 - Strong understanding of vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget oversight.
 - Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards including DOT, EPA, and OSHA.
 - Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret data and drive operational improvements.
 - Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
 - Ability to research, evaluate, and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies.
 
Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
 - Requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 - Occasional lifting of office materials or equipment up to 20 pounds may be required.
 - Requires virtual and in-person meetings with internal and external teams.
 - Some travel required to work sites, seminars, and shows.
 - May be exposed to weather and travel hazards. Must wear required PPE when visiting a site.
