Purpose of the Job

The Land Specialist provides assistance concerning land acquisition, easements acquisition, acquisition of purchase water contracts, system capacity exceptions, engineering coordination, and developer relations. Will also assist in one-time projects as they arise.

This position will be willing and able to perform the following duties and others as assigned:


•    Researches deeds and titles to determine land and easement ownership.
•    Assesses property and easement values and negotiates price for acquisition, lease, or access.
•    Analyzes data of water systems to provide for alternative minimum exceptions from the TCEQ.
•    Collaborates with engineers and follows through with them on projects.
•    Manages and coordinates with engineers with regards to water distribution maps and sewer collection maps.
•    Monitors operational activities for compliance with lease or other obligations.
•    Works with general counsel and legal department when necessary in preparation of contracts.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Related Field

Work Experience

5+ years of relevant experience is required, water/wastewater utility experience is preferred
